I want to buy a gaming laptop. Where do I look? What I should know?
Hello geeks,
As a gamer, I always wanted to know what specific laptop do I need so I can run any game I want, with no worries.
As a normal user, you don't have to look for a professional hardware to do your web browsing, hitting on Facebook or any office documentation work that you do.
But as a gamer, you must look for the right hardware components so you won't cry if your game doesn't start or it runs in frames.
Here are some guidance on what to look at, before you buy a gaming laptop.
1. The processor (CPU)
There are two brands competing for this market. Intel and AMD. The known best are: I5 and I7 from Intel (for Intel fanatics).
AMD is not bad and it's cheaper than Intel, but weaker. The R5 and R7 processors are recommended if you are an AMD fanatic.
2. Gamers need graphics
Most of us are Nvidia fanatics for a reason. It provides quality graphics, it was the first brand that most gamers knew as graphic cards and is here to stay.
Of course that AMD and Intel have their own video cards factories too, but Nvidia are the experts in this field, the others are not for gaming.
Look for an Nvidia graphic card with a large RAM memory. Better than 3 GB.
If you want a smooth gaming experience, go for the best. Your game will lack in quality or it will refuse to run on a weak graphic card.
3. The RAM memory is crucial
The 4 GB of RAM today is useless for a gamer. Gamers need over 8 GB of RAM for a 100% gaming experience.
Of course that you ca run these games on 4 GB of RAM, but your patience is put at test and you don't have any guarantee that the game will run.
4. A huge hard drive
Computer games are asking for big storage. You won't get to run a latest release without at least 30 GB. The game has loads of files, some bigger or smaller than others.
But never underestimate the fact that the game you are downloading, will be merciful.
You need at least 256 GB nowadays. If you can afford, go bigger. 1 TB, it will payoff in the end.
Look for SSD hard drives, they are faster.
5. A long warranty
And when I'm talking about warranty, is not that 2-3 extra years of warranty. It's the product itself.
The product that does not need to go to service. The laptop that has to start when you press the power button.
The laptop that gives you 24/7 of 100% pure game experience. Nothing compares to The Predator yet.
Conclusion
It's easier to to get a full laptop, rather than working on upgrading it. The laptop below has:
CPU: Intel Core i7
RAM: 16 GB DDR4 Memory
HDD: 256 GB SSD
GRAPHICS: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with 6 GB of dedicated GDDR5 VRAM
Extra: 7 hours of battery life
I vouch for this laptop.

W-fi lovers just got upgraded
Hello geeks,
I bet many of you are wireless fans since you discovered this new way of connecting to the internet without cables.
This technology was created back in 1971, when the computers were starting up...
A protocol (the protocol nowadays) was sent as a network package, without wires.
The protocol was so amazing, that we decided to adapt it today and to date.
We also needed the hardware who implements everything,
And we started with routers, as physical hardware.
Life without a router does not seem OK. Routers are everywhere. You can see the router in any wifi place.
What about living a life without a router?
A device that is replacing everything. A wireless device at any distance. Would you buy it?
Would you believe in its existance?
Google wifi replaces not just a search engine, but 3 devices in 1.
If you buy this, nothing can stand against you.
The coverage range, the shape, the technology, the durability and the color, will tempt you.
This is by far different from a switch or router. Where you plug cables and such.

Where do I find, a military grade encrypted, super fast and compact hard drive?
Hello geeks,
This is a very simple answer for this particular question. You can find it here.
The problem is that people don't know what encryption really is.
What is encryption?
Would you like keeping your data secret from other people? Do you love your privacy?
Then, that's what encryption is. It gives you the power to access data via a protection token (fingerprint, pattern, PIN or password) without other people's indiscreet eyes.
Hardware encryption vs software encryption
The easiest way is to go via hardware encryption. This is because software encryption, is failing to prove itself.
A re flashed device can lose it's encryption therefore anyone with a computer and some knowledge can bypass the security and access the files easily.
A re flashed device can lose it's encryption therefore anyone with a computer and some knowledge can bypass the security and access the files easily.
Who needs encryption on their devices?
- The military personnel
- Lawyers
- Doctors
- Detectives
- Cops
- Judges
- Politicians...
...even you (if you are a privacy freak like me) 😁
Privacy is a delicate subject, especially in the IT world. With the devices today, people are feeling so comfortable using a password or a pattern.
The thing is these security layers are becoming obsolete. You can have 10 fingerprints. patterns and passwords all at once.
If a hacker has a back-door via an app on your phone, the phone security is useless and your files are vulnerable. He can steal your files without typing a single password.
This is where encryption comes in. Encryption adds a new layer of security over your files. Your files can't be decrypted without your consent. A hacker can do nothing or he has a hard time working on decrypting it.
Which give you time to catch him.
Encryption can be used for for the device itself or the files on it. It's recommended to encrypt your files only. Encrypting a device can cause you trouble if you forgot your access details.
There is a better solution
I've always wanted a safe. Especially a portable safe. But for electronic documents you don't need a physical safe. You need an electronic encrypted device.
And this hard drive is perfect for such task. You can use it on any computer you want.
And it it gets stolen, it uses the self destruct feature. You lose the files on it but the theif can't use it because the hard drive literally damages the inside disks physically by scratching so they become unrecoverable.
The data transfer is faster than ever. You don't need to wait 3 years to complete a copy/paste operation. You are done in a few minutes.
It's huge storage capacity can help you deposit almost unlimited data on it. But the beauty of it is that only you can access the data and nobody else.
Do you have a private journal that you want to hide from others? Are you a writer and you don't want somebody to steal your work?
Or maybe a singer, music producer, programmer, painter or business man. This is for you.
You have files on the go for your eyes only. Fast and easy. Whenever you want them.

Which one looks better on laptop? MP4 or WMV?
Hello geeks,
A good question for a lot of people. We all know who it will be the winner in the end, so let's start with some explanations.
WMV Format (Windows Media Video)
Older than MP4, it was born with Windows back in '95. The first video format available then because of the lack of technology at that time.
The quality is pixelated. Children at that time were fascinated by the new current.
Watching videos back then was a privilege.
The famous MP4 (mpeg layer 4)
This format is here to stay for a long time. It combines a great video compression with clear audio in the background.
It's weaker than it's competitor (MKV) but it saves space deferring quality.
It was implemented a few years ago as a continuation of the MP3, which stands for the universal audio extension in Windows.
Conclusion
MP4 is newer than WMV. Therefore, it implements a better video quality by the fact that it's newer than WMV.
It takes more space than a simple old WMV video but the storage is not a problem for us nowadays.
Keep the MP4 going. It's better than most of videos extension, as quality and storage residence.

My laptop doesn't have a dvd player is there any way to play movies on it?
Hello geeks,
This is a good question for this blog post.
Let's see the alternatives. We can expose some methods of watching movies on a laptop without a DVD player,
Torrent sites
Even if your laptop does not come with an optical drive, you can always download torrents from the internet and watch movies comfortably.
Find a reliable torrent tracker and happy downloading.
USB pen drives
You can always use a USB drive to copy movies from a computer with an optical drive to it and watch the movie on your laptop. Just insert the USB pen drive and enjoy.
External optical drive
You can always buy an external optical drive. Put it in your USB port and watch movies via CD/DVD. You can also burn files with it on multiple optical supports and keep them forever.
Any laptop comes with an SD slot built-in. You can use this in your advantage. You can buy an SD Card that acts like an USb pen drive, without worries.
Transfer by copying and pasting via SD, movies from a friend and watch on your laptop.
Conclusion
You can use any mobile media storage support or external optical drives to transfer data in and out. Not to mention watching movies, photos, editing documents or transferring any files you want.
Sounds cool? Go get them.

How do website owners earn money when they don't charge for their content?
Hello geeks,
I found this question reliable for this blog post. And the answer is pretty simple.
ADVERTISING
OK. Now, how do they do that? How do I do that :) ? Well, why do I have to charge for my content, when my content is already monetized by my affiliate program, in the first place?
I'm a website owner too, a free website owner, but an owner. But we are talking about others right?
About John
Let's take John for example. He loves fashion. So, he (as a website owner) wants to make some money online.
It's easier for him to write articles, take pictures or even go through the stores and consult the latest brands in clothes, shoes, scarfs...you name it.
But, he's not giving away anything for free. He is an associate (affiliate) for someone else.
He promotes some fashion company and he gets X% commissions from the sales.
The company also is pleased to promote it's brand through John because the CEO of that company makes money while he sleeps and pays John a "small" commission after all as a company.
A commission that for John is necessary to live a comfortable life.
About John's website
John doesn't do anything for free when he promotes the company he is affiliated with.
All the website he built and the struggle and the time and the energy, everything, it's done for his commissions.
This is his job, actually. He is working at it like an employer to a company. The only difference is that John gets paid in a different way from a normal 9 to 5 employee.
Conclusion
John can't charge money for his content because he can't represent the company as an affiliate and he can't get his commision properly.
People are willing to read 'free' content rather than paying for it but pay for a product instead.
John knows that his blog posts, videos and other ways of blogging about fashion, won't generate money for him.
What generates his income are the products that are selling through his promotion.
Jeans, shirts, underwear and so on...
That's why website owners don't charge anything for their content.
Thank you for reading this.
